The town has a lake/beach/park and there’s shops/brewery/entertainment.įYI the marina restaurant next to the rec area was “OK.” À la cart (fries don’t come with burgers).ĭefinitely worth camping here and we will be back with more family/kiddo! My husband called it a gem. If you like biking, the trail takes you into Yankton town (about five miles away). We walked from Gavin’s Point camp to the Yankton Section camp (close to 50 mins each way). Every time the waves would hit I expected salty water! The park boasts lots of shade trees for campers. The first day was windy and you’d swear you were at the ocean. We saw sail boats, jets skis, pontoons, water skiers, inner tubers, paddle boarders….TONS of park/grassy areas soccer/frisbee area next to the beach area. There were dressing shelters at the Midway Beach we frequented with cold water rinse off showers outside the changing areas. The park had plenty of clean bathrooms, three loos and two showers in each one. We had a fire ring with cooking grate, LARGE table and the camping surface was flat. Our tent site was amongst RV lots with plenty of room between lots.
